His images have won close to 300 awards, accolades from Art Director Clubs and Media awards around the world including a Clio award, Gold and Silver awards from the Lucie Awards, His name appears on the cover and in every issue of 200 Best Advertising Photographers Worldwide and has been published in the prestigious annuals of Communication Arts, Photo Graphis, Lürzers Archive and many more.
Dirk’s personal perspective of space and form remains descriptive and realistic yet draws the onlooker into a timesless ambiance. A hallmark of Karsten’s work is creating beautiful and truly imaginative images that tell stories and that the viewer can project themselves into.
In resent years Karsten’s interest has moved more and more from advertising to art photography. His work can be seen in several musea worldwide and in 2018 he was invited to show his work at the Venice Biennale.
Karsten lives and works in Amsterdam and Florida. When he Is not directing films or taking photographs he can be found mentoring young aspiring photographers and lecturing on visual communication.

One of my personal favorite photographs…. I wanted to photograph an image with lots of movement without giving a feeling of being blurred or unsharp..This image was created using several photographs mixing the best part of each different one… It took a long time to find the right color combinations… The silver grey blending to a warm brown. The arm and hand was added later to help with the balance and to give the picture a better feeling of proportion.

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
This photograph is puur fantasy .... an image that I had in my mind for a long time. I had photographed this beautiful horse for an other project which didn't happen for some reason... I created a fantasy background which I party illustrated in the same color range ... It feels like the horse is posing against a beautiful old wall. The horse was photographed with a high end digital camera and the background was mainly illustrated.
